Selected from thousands, we were commissioned to represent the UK in producing this 12 minute documentary film for the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Shot on location in the Trat province of Thailand, Saving Koh Mak explores life on Koh Mak island as a self-sufficient world of it’s own, focusing on the local residents who inhabit it and their contributions to Thailand’s wider growing economy through rubber plantation farming. Through interview driven accounts from the farmers themselves and by utilising observational documentary storytelling techniques, the film unmasks the process of rubber plantation farming, the ways in which they recycling and continue to work hard to retain a ecological way of life by educating the younger generation about the values of nature.
